Heritage School Mural and Presentation

I spent the first day demonstrating different painting techniques
to five hundred fifth grade students. They each completed their own drawing of
the desert as I painted.

The second and third days I worked with individual students to paint a
mural in the fifth grade hallway.

We used a toothbrush for a splattering effect on the rocks and hillsides.

Sponges were used to create the base for the rocks.

Then we painted in the animals, ferns, trees and grasses.

A demonstration board allowed the students to try different painting techniques
before doing them on the mural.

The following photos are details from the final mural.
